‘Surge in exotic illnesses’ as Ireland records first case of cholera in a decade

Clinics and hospitals in Ireland are facing a surge in exotic illnesses including Zika virus, agiardiasis infections and the first case of cholera recorded in over a decade.

Increased global travel has contributed to rising cases of diseases such as leprosy, dengue fever, and malaria. West Nile fever has also been reported.
