A survey conducted by Tourism Ireland in June gathered opinions from 8,000 potential holidaymakers across eight markets on their views of Ireland as a travel destination.
The primary attraction for visitors is Ireland’s iconic landscapes, with many also citing history, heritage, and the country’s warm culture as significant factors influencing their travel decisions.
Some respondents have reconsidered hot-weather destinations, with 35pc finding Ireland’s cooler climate appealing compared to extreme heat elsewhere in Europe. Despite challenges, 71% of US visitors perceive Ireland as good value, with 80% of Britons and 71% of Americans finding it easily reachable.
Alice Mansergh shared, “The primary reason they want to come is our iconic landscapes, both coastal and then our greenery and scenery The perceptions of value for money are significantly better in the US than other markets.”
