Dublin-born chef Colin Fassnidge is filming segments for the Australian TV show Better Homes and Gardens in Ireland this week. Mr Fassnidge runs two highly rated restaurants in Sydney, The Four in Hand and 4Fourteen.
The show airs on the Seven Network to an average audience of 1.3m per episode and is supported by Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland. Filming locations include Wexford, Cork, Galway, Meath, and Dublin, featuring tastings of seaweed butter in Gorey and black pudding at Cork’s English Market.
The schedule also covers a visit to Ballymaloe Cookery School, a guided food tour in Kinsale, and oyster shucking at Kelly Oysters in Kilcolgan. The segments aim to showcase Irish produce and the people behind it, with broadcasts scheduled for next spring.
Sofia Hansson of Tourism Ireland shared: “We are delighted to welcome back the ‘Better Homes and Gardens’ team to Ireland and who better than Irish chef Colin Fassnidge to showcase our exceptional culinary scene.”
