TAP Air Portugal will receive 20 aircraft with Airbus’ Airspace cabins by 2029. The Airspace concept, first revealed in 2016, includes larger overhead bins for enhanced luggage storage.
TAP Air Portugal was the launch partner for the Airspace cabin on its A330neo, with Air Canada set to introduce it on A220 aircraft in early 2026.
The A321neo’s XL bins store eight pieces of luggage vertically, compared to five previously, with a total capacity of 194 pieces, while the A320neo holds 130.
New cabin features include updated lighting, USB-A and USB-C sockets on A321neo seats, and braille signage in bathrooms.
In a written statement, TAP Air Portugal shared: “The A320neo can therefore hold a total of 130 pieces of luggage, while the A321neo can hold 194.”
