€17m Donegal-Dublin PSO route call for tenders before Oct 24

The Irish Department of Transport is seeking tenders for air services between Donegal and Dublin.

The current PSO route has been in operation since 1994. Tenders must comply with EU Regulation and Irish procurement laws. It is currently operated by Emerald Airlines  and valued at €17m.

Evaluation will consider both pricing and qualitative factors under the MEAT principle.

The application deadline for tenders is 15:00 GMT on 24 October 2025. Yhe current contract is set to expire in February 2026

The Department of Transport shared “this initiative aims to maintain vital air connectivity for remote regions. Monthly performance reports will be required to validate compensation claims.”
