Experts have warned about hay fever effects on sleep as a pollen bomb hits Ireland. Met Éireann issued alerts with temperatures at 30 degrees and high pollen counts. Sufferers experience disrupted sleep leading to fatigue and stress.

The grass pollen season began after 17 March and continues until the end of August. One in four Irish adults suffers from hay fever with 76pc reporting disruption to daily life. Searches for hay fever rose by 513pc in the past month.
