The comedians of Dublin have joined the comment section under the Dublin airport post on Twitter/X saying they were applying the decision to prevent them from demolishing the never-used car park spirals at Terminal 1.
Dublin airport shared: We have considered all options. As we outlined in our application, sloping internal surfaces, inaccessible location, and the deteriorating structural condition of the ramps, make them unsuitable for repurposing in any meaningful way.
The comments included:
- Baggage claim slip n slide
- Build what you want and call it an IPAS centre.
- Can I still have a video tour of them
- Can’t you turn it into a big water slide like the Lotto ad? It could be you
- I reckon all you need are some Go-Karts at the top for a new DAA experience – Dublin Airport Autowhirl – €10 a go
- I thought I was looking at The Etihad to which dublin airport replied not enough empty seats.
- It always reminds me of Batman in the Dark Knight movie
- Mario cart course
- Skateboards
- Slide and kids play zone in the old carpark? Get them wrecked before a long flight
- Someone in fingal CC really doesn’t like you
- t’s the only reason I go to the airport
- the closest thing Ireland has to the San Siro.
- The San Siroport
- These spirals were inspired by the famous stone carvings at Newgrange ( or vice versa, I can’t remember). We need to preserve them for prosperity
- Turn it into a water slide just for the craic
- Water slide? Go kart track? Helter skelter?
- You would easily get 40 apartments in there. Although you might fall out of bed more often than not.
