Tourism enterprises from Kildare and Tipperary convened at the K Club for a Fáilte Ireland Thoroughbred Destination Forum, aimed at fostering connections within the industry.

Ruby Walsh, the Irish Racing Champion, delivered insights into the Thoroughbred industry, enriching the discussions with his personal experiences.

The event featured panel discussions exploring the cultural importance of the Thoroughbred to Irish identity and tourism.

Brian O’Flynn, Head of Ireland’s Ancient East at Fáilte Ireland, shared: “This workshop is a great opportunity for the thoroughbred industry to collaborate with tourism colleagues and create experiences that will share the unique thoroughbred stories and culture with visitors. This workshop, attended by many key stakeholders from the tourism and thoroughbred industries in Tipperary and Kildare, heard how the heritage and legacy of the thoroughbred is a hugely significant part of the tourism offering for Kildare and Tipperary and the country. We look forward to working with industry in the region to continue developing the diversity and range of attractions and unique experiences across the counties that will increase visitor numbers, dwell time and visitor revenue to Kildare and Tipperary.”
