The bridge connecting Tramore Valley Park to Grange Road in Cork is now open, it has been announced.

Vernon Mount Bridge travels over the N40 road to allow pedestrians, cyclists and scooterists to access the scenic routes of Tramore Valley Park.

Cork City Council announced the opening of the new bridge on social media, which is 1.5km long and four metres wide, and will provide a “safe link” between Grange into the city and Tramore Valley Park.

The bridge has already acquired a nickname form the local comedians: “the Hump to the Dump.”
