Despite their withdrawal from Ireland, TUI Airways expects accelerated B737 MAX deliveries to increase seat-only sales and reduce their reliance on tour operator packages in other markets.

The airline sold around 90pc of seats in England as packages this year, unlike EU operations such as Belgium which reached 40-70pc individual sales.

TUI plans seat-only expansion across the markets they operate in 2025 but faced Boeing delivery delays.

Up to 20 deliveries arrived from winter 2025 to replace old B737s and grow volume. The group operates twenty-three B737-8s and thirty-two B737-800s alongside Boeing 787s.

Marco Ciomperlik shared “In the EU we have quite a significant seat-only share, but the UK is more tour operator-integrated.”
