Two Royal Caribbean International ships has joined Celebrity cruises in cancelling planned visits to Labadee due to what the cruise line calls safety concerns.
The Oasis of the Seas will now visit Nassau, Bahamas, while the Voyager of the Seas will switch to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
Both ships are currently on separate cruises to the Caribbean and were initially scheduled to call at Labadee.
Guests with prepaid shore excursions for Labadee will receive refunds as onboard credits.
Royal Caribbean shared: “as previously announced by our captain, we’ll switch our visit to Labadee and we’ll now spend the day in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, instead. We’re terribly sorry for the last-minute change. Nevertheless, we’re excited to explore this beautiful destination.”
