
United Airlines has entered into definitive lease agreements for forty A321neo aircraft, set for delivery in 2026 and 2027, which will raise its leasing obligations from approximately USD3.7 billion to USD4 billion.
The airline’s mainline fleet consists of 972 aircraft, including various models such as the A319, A320, A321, and multiple Boeing 737 and 787 variants, among others.
United leases 115 aircraft from eleven lessors, with a notable agreement for twenty A321neo jets set to be leased from SMBC Aviation Capital.
In the first nine months of 2023, United Airlines reported USD42.36 billion in total operating revenue and USD2.16 billion in net income, and anticipates taking delivery of 19 narrowbody and 3 widebody aircraft in the fourth quarter.
