Executives from US-based airlines are set to meet with Boeing’s leadership to address widespread quality concerns, with CEO Dave Calhoun not participating and planning to leave the company by the end of the year.

The meeting, organized post-Airlines for America discussions, will involve Boeing Chairman Larry Kellner and other board members, as Kellner prepares to step down and Steve Mollenkopf assumes the role.

Calhoun will remain CEO until the end of 2024, with Stephanie Pope succeeding Stan Deal as Chief Executive of Boeing Commercial Airplanes following Deal’s immediate retirement.

Following the B737-9 door blow-out incident in January 2024, considered a pivotal event for Boeing, Calhoun emphasized the need for transparency, safety, and quality improvements within the company. Ryanair expressed support for the management changes at Boeing in response to these developments.
