The US Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has confirmed that Belavia cannot operate flights to Russia, Iran, Syria, Cuba, North Korea, or Russian-occupied Ukraine, despite lifting sanctions on eight Boeing narrowbodies.
Removed from the General Prohibition 10 list are two B737-300s, five B737-800s, and one B737-8, allowing domestic and international operations except to restricted countries.
Belavia’s sole B737-800(BBJ), used for government services, remains under the US ban, along with its B767-300ER.
ADS-B data indicates Belavia has operated restricted aircraft to Russia since 12 September 2025, potentially violating US rules.
The BIS oversees export and trade controls, while the Office of Foreign Assets Control manages broader transaction sanctions.
