Spirit Airlines revealed it will discontinue service at eleven airports, including Albuquerque International and San Diego International, effective from the week of October 2, 2025.

The company’s decision is part of a broader strategy to transform its business amidst its second Chapter 11 bankruptcy process within a year. Focus will shift towards stronger-performing markets, with substantial route reductions tied to Las Vegas and other major hubs.

Spirit will also cancel the planned service at Macon Regional, initially expected to begin on October 16. As of August 29, Spirit Airlines is negotiating lease terms with Dublin based AerCap, Avolon, SMBC and others and is set to reduce its current fleet of 214 aircraft.
