Day trip tickets to visit Venice are now on sale as part of an effort to curtail visitor numbers in the city.
From 25 April to 14 July, visitors entering the old city centre between 8.30am and 4pm will need a five-euro ticket.
Residents and individuals born in the municipality are exempt from the ticket requirement, with other exemptions including children under 14 and close relatives of residents.
The scheme currently does not set a limit on the number of entries.
The introduction of daily tickets was delayed due to concerns about revenue and freedom of movement.
The ticket website, available in English and Italian, has launched at https://cda.ve.it/en/.
