Irish leasing companies are moving to safeguard aircraft leased to Vietnam’s Bamboo Airways as the airline suspended several domestic routes, including flights to popular tourist destinations such as Phu Quoc and Da Lat.
The airline ceased flights between DaNang and Da Lat, citing the need for resource management and operational efficiency. Bamboo Airways suspended its Hanoi-Phu Quoc service earlier this week, following the suspension of the HCMC-Phu Quoc route three weeks ago.
Last month, the airline also suspended several international routes to destinations in Asia and Europe. The airline said this decision was made in order to manage resources and improve operational efficiency.
Nine of the 27 aircraft operated by Bamboo Airways are leased out of Ireland.
Bamboo Airways operates 32 domestic routes, connecting Hanoi and HCMC to various destinations including Con Dao, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, and Hue.
Last month, the airline underwent significant restructuring efforts and appointed Luong Hoai Nam, the former head of Pacific Airlines and Air Mekong, as its new CEO.
