Emerald Park experienced a 26pc drop in pre-tax profits to €4.43m due to a 5pc decrease in revenue and a reduction in visitor numbers attributed to bad weather in 2023.

Emerald Park is the tenth most popular visitor attraction in Ireland with approximately 700,000 visitors a year.

The park’s management is focused on a significant investment of €22m for new rides, including Europe’s largest intertwined rollercoaster, to attract more visitors and improve financial performance.

Despite the profit slump, the company remains optimistic about future growth, aiming for increased visitor numbers in 2024 and reporting a rise in employee count and wages.

Ongoing challenges include competition and margin pressures, but directors believe that regular updates to attractions are essential for sustaining visitor interest and maintaining the park’s viability.
