A waiter has been awarded €7,000 after the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) found in his favour regarding unfair dismissal and withheld cash tips from his employer.
The waiter claimed he was threatened with termination when he reported being denied thousands of euros in cash tips.
The compensation relates to an industrial dispute concerning the worker’s employment at a hotel restaurant in the midlands between March and July 2023.
The WRC’s decision was published anonymously, reflecting the details of the case and the findings regarding the treatment of the waiter.
