Siobhan McManamy of Tourism Ireland told the 2023 annual conference of the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation that rising costs are impacting on tourists’ decisions to come to Ireland.

“Our latest research is telling us that 14pc of people are rejecting Ireland altogether as an option. There’s no stopping the conversion set based on rising costs. That’s not just Ireland, That’s impacting on us. I think the Irish tourism industry does that in a way that a few other industries do we often hear this compared to just conflict is that the quality of the product on the ground here is far superior. As long as it’s a value offering you’ll never be a low cost destination.
