Wicklow County Council has granted conditional approval for a tourism hub near Jack Whites Inn pub at Ballynapark, Brittas Bay.

The application includes shepherds huts and a camper van/glamping park with 57 pitches, along with necessary facilities such as a reception, offices, a shop, toilet/shower block, and car parking.

Local residents have raised concerns about noise pollution, loss of privacy, traffic congestion, and the impact on Brittas Bay Beach and local wildlife.

Other concerns include anti-social behaviour, safety issues, and the potential increase in vermin due to outdoor eating and waste disposal.

Jimblue Ltd, the applicant, has received conditional approval with 18 conditions, including limits on noise levels and a commitment to water quality testing.

The tourism accommodation will only be available for short-term holiday letting, with a maximum duration of four weeks, to ensure proper maintenance of water and sewage facilities.
