The Youghal Medieval Festival, held annually since 2007, brings an economic spin-off of approximately €863,000 to the town each year.

The most recent festival in 2022 cost just over €29,000 to organise.

According to a report commissioned by the festival committee, 98pc of attendees interviewed expressed their intention to return in the future.

Attendee satisfaction with the event was scored at 4.86/5, and their likelihood to recommend it to others was scored at 9.62/10.

Valerie O’Sullivan, Chief Executive of Cork County Council, said “the key takeaway from the report is not just the huge economic value of €863,00 but also the overall satisfaction of visitors to the event with 9.62 out of 10 likely to recommend the festival to a friend. The Youghal Medieval Festival certainly has a bright future ahead.”
