Zurich has acquired AIG’s global personal travel insurance and assistance business for USD 600m, making Zurich one of the largest travel insurers globally.
The acquisition will see Zurich serve more than 20m customers and 200 distribution partners worldwide.
AIG’s former global personal travel insurance business will be combined with Zurich-owned travel insurance provider Cover-More Group, operating under the name “Zurich Cover-More”.
The headquarters of the newly combined business will be relocated to the United States.
