WestJet and Virgin Atlantic have expanded their loyalty partnership to offer enhanced rewards and connectivity.

Effective 17 February 2026, WestJet and Virgin Atlantic have significantly expanded their partnership to include full reciprocal loyalty benefits across their entire global networks. This marks WestJet’s first new reciprocal flyer partnership in nearly 10 years.

Members of WestJet Rewards and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club can now earn points/miles and Tier Points on all flights operated by either carrier, including codeshare routes.

Expanded Redemptions: for WestJet-marketed codeshare flights operated by Virgin Atlantic to global destinations via London Heathrow (LHR).

Elite members (Silver, Gold, and Platinum) are eligible for accelerated earning rates on partner-marketed flights. For example, WestJet Platinum members earn 100pc more points on these transactions.

The expanded agreement focuses on leveraging Virgin Atlantic’s London Heathrow hub to connect Canadian travelers to several long-haul destinations:

  • United Arab Emirates: Dubai (DXB)
  • The Maldives: Malé (MLE)
  • South Africa: Cape Town (CPT) and Johannesburg (JNB)

This expansion coincides with the one-year anniversary of Virgin Atlantic’s return to the Toronto (YYZ) market. To support the increased demand and connectivity, Virgin Atlantic will deploy its largest aircraft—the 397-seater Airbus A350-1000—on the Toronto–London route for the summer 2026 season.

The update provides more value for frequent flyers across both programmes. It improves access to benefits on partner networks.
