United States customs and border protection has reported that Mobile Passport Control (MPC) has streamlined the entry process into the United States through Dublin and  Shannon in its first months of operation, by allowing eligible travellers to submit travel document, photo, and customs declaration information through a free app on their mobile device.

Using MPC reduces passport control inspection time and overall wait times for travelers, as they complete administrative tasks prior to the inspection.

Eligible travellers do not need pre-approval to use the MPC app, and successful users may be directed to a designated queue without having to complete a paper form.

The CBP Mobile Passport Control App is available for download from the Apple App store and Google Play, and can be used at MPC approved sites to provide a more efficient and less congested processing experience for travellers.
