
EasyJet projects a 3pc increase in capacity for the 2025 financial year, including a new route from Belfast International to Reus, as it aims for a significant rise in holiday passengers to popular leisure destinations.
The airline’s operating profit improved, although it fell short of analyst expectations due to increased fuel costs and some disruptions from the Middle East.
EasyJet’s incoming CEO EasyJet projects a 3pc increase in capacity for the 2025 expressed cautious optimism regarding the company’s growth strategy while ensuring a careful approach to resuming flights to Israel amidst ongoing regional tensions.
He said the airline made rrevenue from ancillary charges was up 22pc to £3.59bn which includes additional luggage allowances, seat selection, priority boarding, in-flight meals and its holiday business. Of that, £2.46 billion was from the airlines segment, up 13pc.
Lower oil prices are expected to alleviate cost pressures for EasyJet, with analysts predicting continued strong demand and an emphasis on lucrative package holiday offerings for the upcoming year.
