A study from MMGY Travel Intelligence reveals that 19pc of respondents have already booked cruises for 2025-26, with an additional 55pc likely to book.

Ocean cruising remains the primary choice among travellers, although expedition and river cruises are increasing in popularity. Cost and value perceptions remain crucial, with bundled offers and discounts acting as strong motivators for cruise bookings.

Convenience in booking, such as all-inclusive pricing and bundled excursions, is especially appealing to first-time cruisers.

Solo travel and cruising with friends are on the rise, with 20pc of travellers indicating interest in these options, presenting opportunities for cruise marketers.

Katie Briscoe shared “Even in times of economic uncertainty, one thing remains clear: Travellers are prioritizing meaningful, memory-making experiences – and cruising continues to be a powerful part of that equation. Today’s cruise travellers are motivated by value, personal well-being and itineraries that go beyond the expected. The perception of value for the cost remains the top barrier to cruise bookings.”
