Sir Hotels has opened its first London property, Sir Devonshire Square, in a restored 17th century textile warehouse in London’s East End between Spitalfields Market and the City of London.
Interiors by Maison 191 feature Bauhaus-style geometry and mid-century influences with open-plan spaces, arched windows, sculptural staircases, terracotta tiling, stone finishing, soft upholstery and woven fabrics.
The 81 guest rooms include an earthy palette of deep blues, reds, greens and browns with natural timber, metallic details and custom-made furnishings.
An all-day dining space serves seasonal dishes, coffee from AllPress and a cocktail and wine list, with an additional restaurant planned for the coming months.
The hotel plans a monthly programme of events like DJ sets, live music nights, art talks and design panels, plus a lobby boutique selling local and international designer products and a rotating gallery wall of emerging London artists’ work every six months.
Mark Jonathan Heyburn shared: “We’re so proud to offer something truly distinctive in London. Sir Devonshire Square combines the intimacy of a boutique hotel with a strong connection to our East London creative spirit, with the refined design and comfort Sir Hotels is known for.”
