Aer Lingus has announced its first Avios-Only flights, with the inaugural route from Dublin to Tenerife scheduled for Easter 2025, exclusively available as reward seats for AerClub and British Airways Executive Club members.
EI764 will fly from Dublin to Tenerife on 19th April 2025, while EI763 will return on 26th April 2025.
IAG airlines British Airways land Iberia have already operated ‘Avios only’ flights, copying a successful Qantas initiative.
Selected flights in the schedule are withdrawn from cash sale and seats opened up for Avios redemption.
To mark the launch, Aer Lingus offers return fares for just 10,000 Avios plus taxes, fees, and carrier charges for a limited time, providing significant value to members. Subsequent bookings after the promotional period will be available for 20,000 Avios.
The Avios reward currency, earned through various activities like flight purchases, hotel stays, and shopping with retail partners, allows members to access reward seats and other benefits within the AerClub loyalty program tiers.
Susanne Carberry, Chief Customer Officer, Aer Lingus, said: “at Aer Lingus, we seek to make every journey count for our customers. With almost 3m members globally, AerClub gives us a unique opportunity to offer exclusive travel benefits in recognition of loyalty to Aer Lingus. We are always seeking new ways to reward loyalty and these inaugural Avios-Only flights allow AerClub members and British Airways Executive Club members to discover the exceptional value their Avios can deliver – particularly if they act fast and book before 11.59pm on 2nd September. We look forward to saying ‘You’re Very Welcome’ to everyone who is lucky enough to join us on these inaugural Avios-Only flights in April 2025.”
