Air India will roster its A350-900 aircraft onto flights to Heathrow starting from 1 September, with 14 out of 17 weekly flights on the Delhi-Heathrow route to be operated by the A350.
This will be the first long-haul international destination for the airline’s A350-900, which was delivered in late 2023, marking the introduction of a premium economy cabin on the Delhi-Heathrow route for the first time.
The A350 deployment will increase weekly capacity on the route by 336 seats, with 90pc of Air India’s flights to Heathrow offering new or upgraded interiors once the A350 is in operation.
Air India now has six A350s in its fleet, configured with 28 suites in business class, 24 seats in premium economy, and 264 seats in economy, all featuring the airline’s new livery unveiled last year.
