
Airbnb has revealed the top destinations for celebrating Easter, with Galway being among the highlighted locations.
Domestic destinations are particularly popular this Easter, with a 14pc increase in rural bookings in Ireland over the Bank Holiday Weekend compared to last year.
Popular Irish Easter destinations include Castle Demesne and Inishmore in County Galway, as well as locations like Clonakilty, Killarney, Tralee, Dingle, Kenmare, Athlone, Dunmore East, and Bundoran.
Airbnb has observed a surge in searches for Irish family trips during the Easter holidays, with preferences for beachfront, pool stays, countryside, farm, and cabin stays for family-friendly adventures amidst beautiful landscapes.
In terms of international travel, Irish guests are trending towards destinations such as Perth, Miami, and Cancun, as well as neighbouring European cities like Milan, Liverpool, Brussels, and Valletta. Seniors are also showing a resurgence in travel interest, with a 71pc increase in nights booked by travellers aged between 60 and 90, eyeing sunny European cities and destinations further afield.
