AmaSintra embarks on inaugural Douro season

AmaWaterways officially christened its newest river cruise ship, AmaSintra, on April 17, 2025, with its inaugural voyage set along the Douro River in Portugal.

The ceremony took place in Porto, where Jenn Lee, president of Vacation Planners, served as the ship’s godmother alongside co-founders Rudi Schreiner and Kristin Karst.

The AmaSintra will feature a seven-night “Enticing Douro” itinerary, allowing guests to explore notable regions such as Porto, Régua, and Salamanca, along with opportunities for vineyard visits and wine tastings.

With a capacity of 102 guests and 51 staterooms, many equipped with balconies, AmaSintra boasts various onboard amenities including a Sun Deck pool and a restaurant serving regional and international cuisine.

Jenn Lee highlighted the significance of the ship’s attention to detail, reinforcing what makes river cruising a cherished experience, including intimate connections and exploring in comfort and style.
