AmaWaterways, founded by Dublin-born entrepreneur the late Jimmy Murphy has expanded plans for its river cruise fleet and is growing to more than 50 ships by 2032 with capacity increases in Europe Africa and Asia. The company currently operates 31 ships and has three new vessels announced for 2027 on the Rhine Danube and Mekong.

AmaWaterways has confirmed eight new ships in Europe and is adding seven more including one in Portugal.

The expansion includes one additional ship on the Chobe River and two new ships on the Nile in Egypt with one set to debut in 2026. New vessels include the AmaNubia in September 2026 on the Nile the AmaRudi in 2027 on the Danube the AmaMaya in 2027 on the Mekong the AmaFiora in 2027 on the Rhine the AmaClara in 2028 on the Rhône the AmaGaia in 2028 on the Douro and the AmaCleo in 2028 on the Nile. The company is advancing a second ship on the Chobe River alongside the Zambezi Queen.
