
PLAY Airlines reported a net profit of USD 5.2m in Q3 2023, recovering from a net loss of USD 2.9m in Q3 2022.
The total revenue for Q3 2023 increased by 84pc compared to Q3 2022, reaching USD 110.2m, showcasing substantial growth.
PLAY Airlines experienced a record-breaking month with 191,577 passengers flying in one month, achieving a load factor of 91.1pc. Play flies 5w from Dublin to Keflavik.
CEO Birgir Jónsson said the recovery was due to PLAY’s expanded fleet, increased destinations, and growth in ancillary revenue. The airline’s strong operational performance sets it apart from competitors, along with improved unit revenue and East-to-West traffic. PLAY aims to maintain stable operations and profitability before embarking on further growth in 2025.
