The Delhi High Court has summoned the CEO and COO of SpiceJet to appear personally on January 16, 2025, over the airline’s failure to comply with a May 2024 order to pay $6m to Paris-based lessor Team France 01 SAS.

The court rejected a request for the executives to appear via videolink, and the CEO and COO positions are currently vacant, with SpiceJet’s chairman Ajay Singh potentially facing embarrassment over the situation.

SpiceJet has been involved in ongoing disputes with lessors regarding debts from three aircraft engines, which have led to previous court orders for repayment and the return of assets.

Additionally, a separate case involving TWC Aviation Capital has revealed that SpiceJet returned two aircraft but was accused of missing numerous parts, leading to potential contempt proceedings against the airline. The matter will continue in court on January 14, 2025.
