Aoife Carrigy was awarded food writer of the year at the annual Irish Food Writing Awards on Thursday October 26 at the RDS in Dublin.

A record number of submissions for 21 different awards were received for the awards. John and Sally Mckenna were given the lifetime achievement award.

The expanded list of categories covered cookbooks, feature writing, blogging, podcasting, photography, and Instagram/TikTok.

The awards were judged by a panel of international judges, including BBC journalist Dan Saldino, ITV Drinks Journalist Andy Clarke, and Hello Magazine’s Charlotte Pike.

The Irish Food Writing Awards were established by Suzanne Campbell in 2021 to acknowledge and celebrate the excellence in food and drink writing from all over Ireland.
