Cornwall Council has confirmed an agreement for a Courtyard by Marriott hotel at Cornwall Airport Newquay, located within the Aerohub Business Park.
The hotel represents the first development stemming from the council’s efforts to attract private sector interest in the area for future projects.
A planning application is anticipated later this year, pending the finalisation of legal agreements related to the hotel development.
Councillor David Harris expressed optimism about the agreement, linking it to broader plans for optimising the airport estate and future collaborations with their preferred partner.
Recent discussions have raised concerns regarding the airport’s terminal size and its limitations on customer experience and spending, highlighting the need for increased capital investment.
