AquaDome, the largest glass and steel structure lifted onto a ship in one piece, has been lifted on to Royal Caribbean’s new ship, Star of the Seas.

The unit, featuring ocean views and various entertainment options, is a vital part of the construction process progressing at Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland. The ship is expected to enter service in mid-2025.

The 363-ton AquaDome stands at 82 feet tall and 164 feet wide, and is anticipated to be a signature feature as the ship sails from Port Canaveral to the Caribbean, including stops at the private island Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Following Star of the Seas, Royal Caribbean plans to launch a third Icon-class ship in spring 2026 and has announced the construction of a fourth ship with a delivery date set for 2027.
