The Fiddler of Dooney Festival in Sligo has been named as one of the beneficiaries of the Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund, which has raised €150,000 to support initiatives close to the late musician’s heart four years on from her tragic death.
Her close friend and fund PRO, Laura Murray, highlighted the festival’s inclusion among the recipients. This funding is expected to aid the event’s organisation and promotion, reinforcing its role as a key cultural and heritage attraction in the northwest, drawing visitors for traditional music and community celebrations.
