Astronaut Kellie Gerardi has been named as replacement godmother for Royal Caribbean’s new ship, Star of the Seas, after Diana Ross withdrew from the role.
The christening ceremony will take place on August 20, 2025, in Port Canaveral. The Star of the Seas will host its first guests on August 16, 2025.
The ship will feature three-night showcase cruises before its official maiden voyage. Royal Caribbean plans to deliver two additional Icon-class ships in 2026 and 2027.
