ITA Airways has unveiled images of one of its long-haul Airbus A350 aircraft featuring the tagline ‘Inspired by Alitalia’ on its fuselage, which began flying on February 24, 2024, between Rome Fiumicino and Tokyo Haneda.
The airline plans to introduce the heritage tagline on three aircraft, starting with the A350, followed by an A321neo and an A220-100 expected this summer, to honor its history and connection to Alitalia.
Alitalia ceased operations over three years ago and was reorganized into the new state carrier ITA Airways, which Lufthansa Group recently acquired a 41pc stake in, integrating it into its airline network.
ITA Airways is in the process of withdrawing from SkyTeam and aims to join Star Alliance by the first half of 2026 as part of its strategic development.
