Belfast City Council has introduced ‘Embrace the Inclusive Spirit,’ a new toolkit aimed at aiding tourism and hospitality providers in the city to enhance accessibility for visitors with disabilities.
The initiative, launched at Titanic Belfast, is a collaborative effort involving Tourism NI, Visit Belfast, and the Northern Ireland Tourism Alliance, with the goal of assisting local businesses in tapping into a market valued at around £249bn annually for the UK economy.
The toolkit comprises online training resources, ‘Living Library’ feedback events to engage with service users, suggested itineraries for disabled visitors based on input from local residents with disabilities, and information on accessibility features at local venues in partnership with AccessAble.
