Birr Castle Demesne has updated details of its private magnolia collections, one of Ireland’s finest, coming in to bloom during spring and early summer.
Visitors can encounter changing spectacles of snowdrops, daffodils, bluebells, camellias and peonies from January to July.
Cherry blossoms and rhododendrons appear alongside wild garlic and hellebores in the grounds.A 100-year-old wisteria blooms in the formal gardens with lilac in May. The wildflower meadow reaches full glory by mid-June with summer roses on the terrace.
