Boeing is investigating a quality issue with the installation of fasteners on the fuselages of its 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with more than 900 fasteners per plane being incorrectly torqued.

While there is no immediate flight safety concern, Boeing is working to determine the cause and potential impact of the problem and will decide on any necessary rework after completing its investigation.

The FAA is collaborating with Boeing to address the improperly installed fasteners issue, and Boeing is conducting checks on undelivered planes to ensure they meet engineering specifications.

Despite the manufacturing flaw, Boeing is continuing with 787 deliveries at a slower rate, following a previous production slowdown, causing concerns among airlines about existing delivery delays.
