An Bord Pleanála has granted planning permission for a new 136-bedroom hotel in Kilkenny City, incorporating the existing Hebron House into its design.
The development includes a swimming pool, restaurant, bars, meeting rooms, and a conference center, along with landscaped parkland along the Pococke River.
Despite some local residents expressing concerns about potential noise pollution from events, a Noise Impact Assessment concluded that proposed mitigation measures would protect nearby residential properties.
The planning authority confirmed that the hotel development aligns with the objectives of the Kilkenny City and County Development Plan 2021-2027 and would not negatively affect the area’s amenities or natural heritage.
