There are plans to display the stern of the MV Naomh Éanna along the riverfront after it was saved by the Ringsend and Districts Historical Society.
The bow, the front, of the boat, has gone to Galway.
The society says that the preservation of the Naomh Éanna is part role in a wider plan to create a maritime quarter in the Docklands area.
