Brack Tours wins sustainable tourism network certification

Brack Tours has been awarded Silver Sustainable Tourism Network Certification, and the company continues to implement its environmental targets. The certification followed an independent audit that examined the operator’s practices. Brack Tours worked towards the award for nearly two years.

The business set measurable goals that include a 5pc reduction in electricity and gas use and a 4pc reduction in water consumption. It installed solar power for 20pc of office supply and uses LED lighting together with smart HVAC systems. Brack Tours completed a carbon footprint calculation and offset remaining emissions through a Gold Standard project.

Staff participated in volunteer days and community clean-ups. The company applies a hub-and-spoke model for tours to limit travel emissions and trains team members in Leave No Trace principles. Waste reduction efforts already delivered a 33pc cut in general waste in 2024.
