Vandeleur Walled Garden and Visitor Centre in Kilrush, West Clare is undergoing a multi-million-euro redevelopment, creating 10 new permanent jobs over the next year.
Clare County Council signed a contract with Martins Construction Ltd. for the development of a 140-seater indoor and outdoor café and restaurant.
Brambles Café chain, known for its farm-to-fork approach, won the tender to operate the new facility, which will open in June 2024.
The overall visitor development strategy includes extensive restoration and renovation of the site, opening an interpretive centre, renovating the stable block, and improving the use of surrounding woodland.
The project has received funding support from the Department of Rural and Community Development and Clare County Council, aiming to boost tourism, aid rural regeneration, and create economic opportunities in the region.
