Mac’s Pub at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park is undergoing renovations to enhance the visitor experience.
The pub will operate as a museum pub, focusing on storytelling, traditional music, and a lit fire, without serving alcohol. It will close for two weeks from today for maintenance and cleaning before reopening as a museum. Further investments include upgrades to carparks, pathways, health and safety, and the development of the Brendan O’Regan Museum.
Clare County Council’s Clare Tourism Development oversees the project, with plans for stakeholder consultation.
Geraldine O’Rourke shared: “Mac’s Pub is central to the folk park and the village street and has a longstanding history with a deep connection with visitors. We are looking forward to reinvigorating and reimaging the traditional pub experience to connect with a wider audience.”
