
The fire at Luton Airport car park on October 10th that destroyed 1,405 vehicles was was not deliberate and is believed to have started accidentally due to a vehicle fault.
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage in connection to the incident, “as a precaution,” but he has been released on bail.
Luton Airport said last week that it was “unlikely” that any vehicles would be “salvageable” following the fire, which caused a partial collapse of the car park. Along with its parking provider APCOA, it had responded to almost 16,500 customer queries since the fire.
